The Prime Minister has recently flagged off a commemorative ‘Dandi March’ to launch the celebrations of the 75th year of Independence – ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. IIM Bodh Gaya recently held a symposium of faculty members in its campus to mark the event. During the discussion, some of the speakers mooted the idea to sensitize the students towards the freedom struggle and sacrifices of revered freedom fighters of the country. The agitation for political rights that began with independence has today transformed into one for economic and social freedoms and with the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative still remains relevant for the country today. They also discussed the valour and sacrifice of our freedom fighters some of whom remained anonymous till their end. The eminent faculty members also felt the need for more such events that help us remember the sacrifice of our ancestors and inspire us in our everyday endeavours.
